Focal Pointe was recognized by The Professional Grounds Management Society® (PGMS) with a 2024 Green Star Grand Award for CITYPARK, a zero-waste stadium and home to St Louis’ Major League Soccer franchise, St. Louis CITY SC.
The awards were presented in conjunction with PGMS’s annual conference and expo in Louisville, KY, October 15-18.
St. Louis CITY SC is the only MLS facility to have its stadium, performance center, and headquarters all in one location. Located in Downtown West area of St. Louis, the complex partners with the city of St. Louis, Great Rivers Greenway, and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MDOT) to maintain the grounds surrounding the property.

“Maintaining a 35-acre, high-traffic venue is more than just taking care of the landscape. It’s a joint effort that ranges from ensuring that the grounds enhance visitor safety, provide an enjoyable experience for fans, and are always game day ready. Having a great working relationship with St. Louis CITY SC is key,” said Azotea. “In-house crews oversee three grass pitches and one synthetic pitch with Focal Pointe teams maintaining the landscape, turf and beds, including over 120,000 sq ft planting beds, of which nearly 40,000 sq ft is prairie.”.
