Helping Kids Live Their Best Lives

Remember making mud pies and forts when you were a child?

Playing outdoors is the perfect place for kids to run faster, climb higher, jump farther, and discover the wonders of the natural world. From rooftop play areas to interactive nature space, anyone who has ever visited a playground has heard the joyful noise of children with ample room to explore.

Focal Pointe’s Director of Construction Operations couldn’t agree more. “Most of us got started in this industry because we enjoyed spending time outdoors as kids,” said Brian Bobikiewicz, who has been leading the company’s construction division for more than a decade.  “Our team understands that we’re not just building playgrounds.  We’re building spaces for kids to play make believe and make memories with friends.”

Focal Pointe’s playground portfolio has seen impressive growth, which Bobikiewicz attributes to his team’s commitment to exacting standards. “We thrive on complex projects with non-negotiable deadlines, and very proud to be a reliable resource for quality playground manufacturers throughout the Midwest.  But basically, we’re building trust, and that trust is what’s fueling our growth,” he said.

Looking ahead, Focal Pointe sees no slowdown. Across our divisions, whether we’re designing and building dog parks and playgrounds, installing landscapes or taking care of them, we’re seeing tremendous demand.  “Everyone wants to be outside,” continued Bobikiewicz. “People are realizing that spending time outdoors enhances the quality of life, for adults and kids alike. Less time on devices, more time outside.”

From the smallest pocket park to the tallest tree house, shaping the future of play for children of all ages and abilities—with technology, safety, sensory elements, and architectural features, has never been greater.

The All-Abilities Playground of Champions in Community Park was funded by a private-public partnership led by the Build O’Fallon Trust, with community service organizations and local businesses donating to the park improvement efforts. Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OH Health, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Compassionate canines are an important part of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital’s healing program, and it isn’t unusual to see a number of family-friendly therapy dogs at its dog park. Combining the healing power of a dog’s unconditional love with the healing power of a landscape is a quality-of-life win for the families, staff and patients at OH Health, and the design-build playground team at Focal Pointe.
