  • Objectives:

    • To perform accurate and effective repairs on equipment and vehicles.
    • To provide exceptional service delivery to the operational teams by collaborating and communicating effectively.

    Reports to:

    Branch Manager

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensures that equipment and vehicles preventive maintenance is completed on schedule and according to established standards and procedures.
    • Maintains and repairs vehicles to include trucks, skid steers, wheel loaders and trailers.
    • Maintains and repair equipment to include lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, edgers, and hedgers.
    • Ensures equipment and vehicles are repaired accurately and will not return to the shop for the same issue. Zero defects.
    • Documents all activity for vehicle and equipment per standards and procedures. This includes repairs, preventive maintenance, assets at third parties, adding and disposing of assets.
    • Follow weekly schedule and account for work hours in a timely and accurate manner by adhering to timekeeping procedures.
    • Maintains a clean, safe and well-organized shop.
    • Provides basic tools to repair equipment and vehicles.
    • Communicates any concerns to the Branch Manager to include safety, quality and efficiency issues.
    • Colloborates with Operations Managers to prioritize repairs to ensure the crews have the necessary tools to succeed.

    Qualifications                     

    • Must be a person of integrity, working with the professional Focal Pointe team.
    • Self-motivated with a strong desire to work hard, high attention to detail, follow-up, and the ability to prioritize.
    • Broad based mechanical aptitude
    • Working knowledge of small engine equipment and vehicles.
    • Ability to troubleshoot, find problems and repair equipment/vehicles.
    • Prefer at least one year of experience but not required.
    • Bilingual Spanish/English ability preferred but not required.
    • Basic computer skills for data entry.
    • Valid Driver’s License with approved driving record.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Employee is frequently required to sit, climb, stand, walk, handle, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to one hundred pounds.
    • Employees in this position are occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, wind, and rain.
    • Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
    • Employees are occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
