Good Morning Focal Pointe Team,
Today is a special one for our family as we celebrate John’s birthday. Because today also falls on the day he would typically write about “Inspiring Communities,” I wanted to share a few words from a perspective that I’ve been honored to have over the years.
For nearly 30 years of marriage, I’ve had a front-row seat to the heart behind the vision of this company. I’ve watched John dream about what Focal Pointe could become since his college days. I’ve seen the early years when the dream was simple but real – figuring things out as he went, taking risks, and believing that something meaningful could be built. I’ve watched him carry responsibility, work through challenges, and continue holding onto the belief that a company could be different – not just successful, but truly purposeful.
What makes John unique is that what he writes is who he is.
For years, he has written about inspiring communities, serving others, and the joy that comes from making a real difference in people’s lives. But those ideas have never just lived in a Friday message. He is wired to care deeply about people. He genuinely wants others to succeed. He wants people to see their potential, and he wants this company to be a place that gives them the opportunity to do exactly that.
I hear him say all the time what unbelievably great people Focal Pointe has. I hear how proud he is of this team. I hear his belief that we are building something truly unique in this industry. And after all these years, that belief has never wavered.
One of the things I admire most about John is that he has never viewed “Inspiring Communities” as just a phrase. To him, it’s something you live out -through the way you serve your customers, the way you keep your word, and the way you show up for each other every day. That’s why this team means so much to him. You’ve taken what started as a vision and made it something real.
To those of you who have been part of this journey for years – thank you. Thank you for pushing with him, believing with him, and helping shape what Focal Pointe has become.
And to those who are newer – just know, you’re stepping into something really special. This company was built with vision, grit, faith, sacrifice, and a genuine desire to create opportunities for others. The culture here matters because the people here matter.
John may be the one we celebrate today, but I know he would be the first to say this has never been about one person. It’s about a team that has turned a dream into something living and growing. It’s about people who inspire communities not just in the big moments, but in the way they show up and do their work every single day.
John, I hope today you can feel what so many of us can clearly see – the dream is alive. Your rocking-chair dreams are unfolding in real time. One of the greatest privileges of my life has been watching the way you lead, the way you care, and the way you inspire others.
